The grandparents and sole providers of two special needs children found themselves without a home after their house burned down earlier this year. Without home insurance, this Hampton family was unable to afford a new house that could accommodate their grandchildren’s special needs. On top of losing their home, the youngest grandchild was hospitalized at CHKD after experiencing neurological issues. The River Ellis Foundation covered two weeks of hotel and meal costs for this family to ease their financial burden and allow them to apply the money saved toward a new home.
